The secret of our excellent thermal insulation is 100mm thick insulation of external walls, offering effective protection against heat loss. With an extremely low U-value of upto 0.15 W/m2K (compared to a U-value of 0.35 required by standard British regulations), our exterior walls are absolutely future-proof in the fight against heat-loss.

A strong core to strengthen and protect
Solid wood frame construction is at the core of every Hanse Haus wall. We only use the best conifer timber which is planed to almost furniture quality. The interior of the wood framework is packed with mineral wool for additional noise and heat insulation. The low thermal conductivity of the insulation is a valuable element in conserving heat in interior spaces. Areas at which energy could be lost are effectively prevented through detailed planning and careful construction. The construction of our houses is covered by a 20 year warranty.

Highest static load
The high-quality Oriented Strand Boards of Hanse Haus walls are hot-glued to the wood frame construction under high pressure. This offers the advantages that the static strength of the walls is very high and the internal insulation is permanently fixed in place.

A pleasant climate all year round
The effective partnership of Gypsum boards and a vapour diffusion barrier are the perfect mix for creating a comfortable climate within the house. A substantial 12.5mm thick plaster level absorbs excessive humidity and returns moisture to the air, a feature which you especially appreciate in bedrooms and living rooms. The high mass of Gypsum boarding also provides good protection from summer heat. The full-surface vapour diffusion barrier guarantees protection against the wind, keeping warm air inside the house for all-year round temperature control and low heating costs.
